400 KILLERS REPENT, HAND IN GUNS, JOIN CIVIL MORTALS: ALGERIA

That’s right.
They "repented, promising not to return to violence as a means of achieving their political objectives." At least that’s the way the UPI dispatch from Algiers reports it, dated April 18 2005.
They "repented."
That means that the gunmen publicly confessed their wayward ways of murdering and now hope for a return to decent lifestyles with decent human beings. It must get somewhat tiring after awhile, going around blowing up innocent people, watching blood soak into the dirt and then waking up another morning to more of the wretched same.
Therefore, the National Committee for Amnesty can truthfully inform media that there are 400 repentants. They have put down their armor to cling to the peace branch.
The 400 represent "almost 95 percent of the number of gunmen still active in Algeria," Abdel Razzak Ismail states. The gun totters will leave their hideaways tucked in the raw mountain sides. Then they will don the nice cloth of everyday folk in the villages.
"Ismail was quoted Monday in the French-language daily newspaper L'Expression as saying direct contact was established several months ago with the gunmen, who have stopped their terrorist activities and are awaiting the general pardon," according to The Washington Times.
Nice, isn’t it?
