HUMANISTS: US = DANGEROUS THEOCRACY = LIKE TALIBAN
J. Grant Swank, Jr.
"’This may be the darkest time in our history,’ said Bob Edgar, general secretary of the left-leaning National Council of Churches and former six-term Democratic congressman from Pennsylvania.
"The United States is ‘not yet a theocracy,’ Joan Bokaer, founder of TheocracyWatch.org, said Friday night, but she argued that ‘the United States is beginning to fit the model of a reconstructed America.’"
"She compared the Federal Communications Commission's threatened crackdown on indecency on television with the Taliban, the repressive Islamic rulers of Afghanistan who harbored Osama bin Laden's terrorist network until toppled by a U.S.-led invasion.
"’Indecency police are a major part of theocratic states,’ Ms. Bokaer said, flashing a picture of Islamic women covered head to foot under the title, ‘Taliban: Ministry for the Protection of Virtue and Prevention of Vice.’"
America is turning into a most dangerous theocracy like unto Afghanistan’s Taliban?
The United States is on the verge of destruction because of Christians. Christians are now the concerted enemy out to do in the nation. There is no doubt about it. Five hundred humanists gathering in New York said so. They are vehement. They are frightened.
Those gathered don’t even believe in demons; yet they referred to the so-called "religious right" as "demonizing" the country.
They don’t trust Christian evangelists, yet the humanists were out-evangelizing the bus-touring, Bible flapping evangelists.
They don’t espouse gusto preaching, yet the non-believers and leftist religionists were declaring with outlandish, vein-popping emotion their scare message for all America to hear — and be converted unto.
In short, the United States has lost its soul due to the evangelicals.
The aggressive Christians are unraveling culture, education and decency. If only the theologically liberal were still in the driver’s seat, this nation could forge ahead. If only the amoral, immoral humanists could set up their relativistic revival tents on behalf of secularizing America as in Europe, the next generation could stand a healthy chance for survival.
But the biblical believers are the enemy. They are backtracking refinement, finesse, literacy, art, history, society in general and thereby plunging America into the medieval mindset cloaked in suspicions destructive.
As Jon Ward of The Washington Times reports, "Secular humanists and leftist activists convened here over the weekend to strategize how to counter what they contend is a growing political threat from Christian conservatives.
"Understanding and answering the ‘religious far right’ that propelled President Bush's re-election is key to preventing a ‘theocracy’ from governing the nation, speakers argued at a weekend conference.
"’The religious right now has an unprecedented influence on American politics and policy,’ said Ralph White, co-founder of the Open Center, a New York City institution focused on holistic learning. ‘It is incumbent upon all of us to understand as precisely as possible its aims, methods, beliefs, theology and psychology.’"
The Open Center, liberal to the maximum, played host to the anxious enthusiasts. Of course one could count on People for the American Way to be in the front row seats.
One speaker after another emitted angst regarding the emergence of the moral base in America. In other words, the Red States have brought us a President who is in reality one of the major threats of all times. Those in his league are actually demons in disguise.
"Such rhetoric turned the volume up on warnings of theocratic revolution issued by some Democrats opposing Republican efforts to override their Senate filibusters of Mr. Bush's nominees for federal judgeships."
Of course, backsliden Southern Baptist Al Gore is the darling of the conclave with his warning that "right-wing religious zealotry" is cutting up the country for trash pick-up come Monday morning.
Then there’s chairman of the Dem National Committee Howard Dean with his arms beating the winds, warning that we are headed for a "theocracy where the highest power tell us what to do."
Add to that Colorado Dem Senator Ken Salazar who labels Dr. James Dobson’s evangelical organization, Focus on the Family, as "the Antichrist of the world."
"Conferees here shared Mr. Salazar's disapproval of such Christian activist groups as Focus on the Family and such politicians as Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, Tennessee Republican. When Ms. Bokaer showed a slide of Mr. Frist, some in the crowd hissed loudly."
One wonders if upon leaving the auditorium, humanists were heard singing "Onward Devil’s Soldiers, Marching as to War." Could be.
Stay tuned.
