WHY MORE U.S. $ TO PALESTINIAN AUTHORITY??

J. Grant Swank, Jr.

Not. Quit. Stop.

There’s no reasonable move for the United States Congress to fork over more millions to the Palestinian Authority, though that is exactly what Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas asked of the body just hours ago.

Brazen of brazen is indeed the mode of the PA leadership when making the jaunt to America.

Why would millions more help the PA at this particular time in their regime? What good is money more when daily PA TV broadcasts that Jews are "pigs and descendants of monkeys"?

What more money is needed for Abbas to douse such ongoing telecasts to his own people, particularly to the young — that next generation taught how to murder Jews in particular and non-Muslim "infidels" in general? More bucks to do that? I don’t think so.

No more bucks might be the answer. If a squeeze were put on the US money flow to the PA, then something over there might happen for civility. But if more money flows from the United States rich pockets to the PA, that’s simply more of a chance for fraud, something not uncommon to the Muslim madness. And more money from U.S. makes us the suckers maximum.

So Abbas sits in the same room with certain Congressmen, and according to Reuters, cozies up to their hearts, walking out of the room with all sorts of promises, especially more American cash.

However, not all Congressmen are convinced of the Abbas sincerity, let alone the genuineness of his colleagues. Reuters reports that "any decision to provide direct aid could anger some members of Congress who say they still do not believe the Palestinian Authority should be trusted with US assistance."

Is that an understatement or what?

Yet the report goes on with detail: "The US has provided $200 million for the cash-strapped Palestinian

Authority this year and President George W Bush has asked for another $150 million for the fiscal year starting 1 October.

"White House spokesman Scott McClellan said the US has already made substantial commitments for financial assistance to the Palestinian Authority and Japan had recently made a significant pledge as well."

This is nuts. Who can trust the PA, especially with US funds?

Why funds additional anyhow?

Let them have their peace meetings with one another to decide to delouse their bombs. That doesn’t add up to financial distress in need of healing. That can be accomplished without counting any US dollars wafted across the waters to benefit PA killers international.

If the Congress has not gone mad on this issue, I don’t know what to call it?
