GLASS HOUSED DEMS THROW STONES AT BOLTON

J. Grant Swank, Jr.

That’s right.

Dems in their own glass houses are having a grand time of throwing rocks. While tossing, they are eating up the media mikes. While tossing, they are getting rid of whatever bile they collected over the weekend.

The bottom line from Dems is that America is going to fall apart because US President George W. Bush appointed John Bolton as US Ambassador to the UN.

So here we go with a major regurgitation from Dem Senator from Illinois, Barack Obama: “John Bolton is the wrong person for the job and the decision to appoint him today will not serve American foreign policy well at all. ... His history of inflammatory statements about the U.N. will also make it difficult for him to effectively advance U.S. security interests in New York and bring about necessary reforms to that institution."

Inflammatory statements? So that’s the stone toss, is it? Inflammatory statements?

Has Senator Obama been deaf in both ears in recent months not to hear the bellows and blisters inflicted by none other than his own Democratic Committee Chairman Howard Dean? If there was ever an inflammatory mouth hurting America and freedom causes it’s Obama’s own Dem leadership.

As for another rock thrower, check out Dem Senator Dianne Feinstein from California: "John Bolton has placed his faith in a unilateral, go-it-alone foreign policy that has stretched our military thin, and I believe his inability to be an effective and constructive ambassador could produce dire consequences for American foreign policy."

Bolton has not even tested his UN chair for proper fit when he’s already labeled as ineffective and lacking in constructive ability as an ambassador. Does not Senator Feinstein realize how totally ineffective and lacking in constructive ability is her entire political party? Even so as to have comediennes such as Jay Leno make late-night humor of the Dems not producing anything of worth?

Naturally Dem Senator Ted Kennedy from Massachusetts has to get in his rock toss: "The abuse of power and the cloak of secrecy from the White House continues. ... It's a devious maneuver that evades the constitutional requirement of Senate consent and only further darkens the cloud over Mr. Bolton's credibility at the U.N.”

Abuse of power from one who slid a young lady, Mary Jo Kopechne, into the Dike Bridge pond back in 1968? Ever since then, Kennedy has racked up his own personal and political power abuses. However, with money to cover his antics he is still seated in the US Congress, now tossing another rock at Bolton.

Further, for Kennedy to use such terms as “secrecy” and “devious maneuver” and “evades” and “darkens the cloud” is to beg for retorts that could be quite revealing. Nevertheless, eternity will spell out the detail.

Finally, all the Dems end up sounding pretty much the same, e.g., Dem Senator Frank R. Lautenberg of New Jersey: “It's sad that even while the president preaches democracy around the world, he bends the rules and circumvents the will of Congress in appointing our representative to the United Nations."

There was no bending of any rules. The President played by the rules.

There was no circumventing the will of the reasonable. The President saw through the will of the sane.

There is nothing sad about Bolton going to the UN. In fact, it’s sad that the Dem blockade joined by Republicans in Name Only (RINOs) had to barricade the reasonable process with their day care antics.

In that, America lost valuable time with no presence in the UN. Now, hopefully, the nation can recoup to get on with significant action. With Bolton, we can count on action, finally.
