While the world wonders what comes next, Evangelist Dr. Billy Graham, 86, continues to “give the altar call.”
To the more liturgical churches, there is no such memory of the altar call. But to the fundamentalists and evangelicals and Pentecostals, the altar call is a staple. It is just there. It is not worship unless there is an altar call.
Tent meetings and revival services used the altar call. Billy Graham has always extended the altar call at every crusade he has ever conducted — all over the world. Even when there was no visible altar rail, there was the altar call.
What is the altar call?
It’s the invitation to accept Jesus Christ as personal Savior. That the “decision” that Dr. Graham seeks from every person attending and watching his services.
That’s why his Billy Graham Evangelistic Association monthly publication has been called DECISION. It’s the decision that will spell eternity for heaven or hell. It’s the decision that will turn the person’s life away from spiritual darkness to God’s light.
The altar call wanes in some more modern-day worship services, even in the evangelical and fundamentalistic congregations. But still the invitation is usually given, altar rail or not. People are called to the front of the sanctuary to give a public witness that they have chosen Christ as Redeemer and Lord of their lives.
I recall as a youngster going to one revival meeting after another. Then in summers our family attended the campgrounds where we had the altar call under the large tabernacle ceiling. Many responded. I did, at age 7, and it has meant the course of my life ever since.
When I was a boy, the altar rail at the summer campgrounds was strewn with straw from nearby farmers’ fields. Therefore, when we prayed at the altar, we knelt in the straw. It was quaint. It was wonderful.
At home in our Frederick, Maryland, Church on Motter Avenue the altar rail was a simple wooden affair, but strong enough to carry the heaviest weight as mourners knelt there to confess their sins, repent of their wrong-doings, and rise to their feet rejoicing in new-found grace. It was the time for coming upon God’s mercy. It was the chance to discard those awful sins for forgiveness from the heart of Creator God.
This weekend Dr. Graham is preaching to thousands upon thousands in Queens, New York. After he preaches, the hymn will be sung: “Just as I am, without one plea. . .”
Then the people will get up out of their seats, walk down the aisles, and prepare to confess their sins to Christ, the Savior of the world. There will be counselors there to talk with them, pray with them, and congratulate them on making the most important decision on this Earth.
Dr. Graham’s ministry has had many facets. But the most significant has been the altar call. It’s there that lowly and mighty, the rich and poor, the young and old, have found hope in a sinless Sacrifice upon Calgary. There many lives have been transformed by the miracle from heaven.
There is no magic. There is no flimflam. There is no cultic scheme. It’s just plain old-fashioned New Testament gospel: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes on Him should not perish but have everlasting life.’
The gospel is for “whosoever.”
That is, it’s for everybody and anybody. In a flash, a soul can be rescued from sin, the devil and hell. In s moment a life’s perspective can be totally changed from self to the Savior.
It’s happening this weekend in Queens. It’s happened before all over the world — whether at a Graham crusade or a summer camp meeting or a revival tent or a Sunday evening service where two or three are gathered together in His name.
It happens. And in that is the hope of now and forever.
Certain atheists in particular consign Allah to superstition. Some religionists do the same by relegating Islam’s deity, Allah, to a figment of the Muslim imagination.
The truth is that Allah is not a figment of anyone’s imagination nor fictitious nor a part of superstitious lore. Allah exists.
In the Old Testament Jehovah warned the Israelites not to intermingle with pagan cultures, especially not to marry anyone within those heathen conclaves. Jehovah explicitly stated that doing same would open the Israeli mind to worship the pagan gods.
If the pagan gods were merely superstitions or figments of the pagan imaginations, then what was there actually to fear? It is true that even a figment of the imagination that is not lined up with eternal truth can waylay a soul from Jehovah. But the matter was far worse than that.
Jehovah prohibited His own people from worshiping other gods for those other gods actually existed. In what form did they exist? They existed as demons, cohorts with the King of the Pit, Lucifer, the fallen Angel of Light.
It is the same with Allah. Allah exists in actuality as the King of the Pit, Lucifer, the fallen Angel of Light. Therefore, when Muslims pray to Allah, it is not merely a figment of their imagination to whom they pray. They pray to a real power. They pray to the Devil.
The Bible states that the only true God is the God of the Bible. All other deities are demons appearing as deities.
The Devil has long sought to be the only true God, seated upon His eternal throne. It was that motive that caused Jehovah to cast the Angel of Light out of a holy heaven. As Lucifer plotted his mutiny to usurp the true God’s throne, the latter cast out the rebellious angel and cohorts into a place called “hell.”
Today we witness the power of Allah in an extremely mighty fashion as the major threat to the entire planet’s existence.
Allah has set up war against all those who do not worship him as the divine one. That is why Muslims read in their unholy writ that all non-Muslims must be killed. If any Muslims cower at that dictate, then those cowardly Muslims must be slain as well. All this is stipulated in the Koran.
In other words, the present-tense war going on between Muslim insurgents — that is, Islamic global murderers — is a spiritual fight. The forces of hell battle against all that is of the true God.
Therefore, when the US President George W. Bush and the international forces in New Iraq seek to quell the daily suicide bombers, for example, they are up against a spiritual militia directed by the Devil.
The baseline of the Koran states that Muslims live and non-Muslims die. Allah is deity. Mosques are waystations where Allah’s recruits recoup for the next slaying. Clerics in those mosques are mentors for murder.
That is why the peace-making world does not hear anything from a mosque cleric disciplining his worshiping Muslim murderers. There are no sermons in mosques calling for Muslim killers to lay down their weapons.
It is the same with Muslim despots. There is no call for world peace from Muslim dictators. They sit idly by while the Islamic suicide-prone blow up Muslims and non-Muslims alike. They do nothing while their citizenry threatens the non-Muslim nations. After all, these Muslim heads of state cannot reveal any cowardice or they will be slain by Muslim devotees.
There is no other world religion that espouses killing off those who disagree with the religion’s tenets. However, Islam decrees just that.
One of the Devil’s tricks is to appear pleasant and kind, benevolent and peace making. That is why the Council for American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) works night and day for the Islamic public relations in painting the pretty picture of Islam.
As CAIR continues to make inroads in North America, it prides itself in being a community-based, supportive segment of a democratic society. Of course, the truth is that it is anything but. It is one of the most aggressive means by which the Muslim sleeper cells are being planted in North America to take over the continent for Devil-Allah.
Consequently, Islam is not really a religion as much as it is a killing cult. Yet America closes down killing cults; therefore, US forces must shut down now the Islamic killing cult. Any procrastination is time lent to evil forces for specializing their schemes to capture our culture.
It is the same anywhere else in the world. Gradually Europeans are coming to realize that the Muslim immigration is not good. Turkey included in the European Union is not beneficial.
All the while the Muslims continue to pour in, take over and wait for their chance to overwhelm, then take over. It is the same in South America where poverty and political corruption flourish, the latter being a perfect breeding ground for Muslim growth.
Therefore, as the Muslims take over in the name of Allah — who is in fact the Devil — the Muslims, for instance, shout “The Great Satan” against the United States. That is another trick of the Devil. The Devil calls the enemy by his own name and so fools the public.
The Devil followers did the same with Jesus. They told the public that He was Beelzebub. They claimed Jesus’ powers were from the Devil. Consequently, it’s an old ploy for the actual Devil devotees to sideline attention from the truth that they are demonic by naming the opposition as being demonic.
The sooner the world community wises up to realize that Allah actually exists in the person and power of the Devil, the sooner the world will realize that the peace making public is up against the spiritual enemy. The battle is a spiritual war. The dark forces out to undo all that is civilized come from The Pit.
The only victory possible for the peace making world community is to expose the demonic lie for what it is, especially by defining Allah as the Devil, Lucifer, the Angel of Light who has fallen from grace to hell’s caverns.
Then the peace making world community must call upon the true God, the deity of the Bible, to intervene with a might greater than the threats of the Devil. In Old Testament times, when the Israelis were surrendered in holiness to Jehovah, Jehovah won their battles for them. The pagan enemies were sent scurrying, losing the battles one by one. It is the same in any age. Jehovah holds a power greater than the Devil.

US / CANADIAN ANGLICANS ‘OUT’. AFRICAN / ASIAN ANGLICANS ‘IN’

They are out with God.
The American Episcopal Church and the Canadian Anglican Church, both part of the worldwide Anglican communion thus far, are not on the side of God. They have rewritten their religion to be hedonistic, pagan and outright antiChrist.
That’s the opinion of not only the African and Asian Anglicans but all global biblical Christians. What is stated in the Holy Scripture is that man must not have sex with man. Woman must not have sex with woman. Only man to woman sexual relations within the commitment of marriage is permitted of any Christian, regardless of the denominational affiliation.
Nevertheless, the North American Anglican / Episcopalian conclave has gone astray spiritually, so much so that the rest of their communion has pronounced EVIL upon the sinners’ heads and hearts.
The conflict is increasing. The biblical believers know that there is no room for compromise. God has revealed His eternal truths in the Bible and therefore no mortal must tamper with what the divine has scribed.
Nevertheless, starting with the Episcopal Church ordaining the New Hampshire bishop as not only practicing homosexual legitimate but blessed by heaven, that contingent has riled up the Scripturally loyal Anglicans universal so that there is bound to be a grand divorce.
The homosexual tolerant state that the biblical loyalists can return “home” any time they want. The door is always open. They are not outcast. They are more than welcome to step through the doors.
However, the biblically aligned state that the homosexual tolerant have robbed the biblically true of their home. They have stolen the sanctuary of God, the worship of the faithful and the eternal verities so as to twist them for the devil.
No compromise. No margin for discussion. No tolerance for sin. With that in place, there is no choice but for the genuine Christians to make exit from the devil’s crew. And that is moving along quite quickly.
According to Bob Harvey and Natalie Alcoba of CanWest News Service (with files from The Daily Telegraph), “The fierce battle within the Anglican Church over homosexual clergy and same-sex marriage has brought the Canadian and American branches of the faith to the brink of banishment by the Church's ruling bodies meeting in England.
“The controversy flared up at the Anglican Consultative Council session in Nottingham yesterday, pitting the liberal, pro-homosexual Canadian and American congregations against a hardline coalition of African and Asian wings that bitterly opposes homosexual involvement in Church affairs.
“At the root of the dispute is the consecration of openly gay clergyman Gene Robinson as Bishop of New Hampshire and the decision by the diocese of New Westminster, B.C., to authorize the blessing of same-sex marriage.”
Yet it is this very same Robinson who has played host to the biblically loyal by stating that they are more than welcome to return to the sanctuary for worship. After all, it is not the homosexuals who kicked them out. They left on their own accord; however, any time that they see the light that homosexuals are God’s blessed, the biblically loyal can return to the fold.
That is considered blasphemy by the sincere Christians, not only of the Anglican tradition but all genuine believers of any church. Therefore, while the homosexual enthusiasts continue to act benevolent, the biblically true regard them as the fake of the fake, the obnoxious maximum and those whom God has spewed out of His mouth.
"’If there was any doubt left about the serious nature of this rift, this week's meeting has made clear how far from agreement both sides appear to be, and the extent to which neither is willing to compromise,’ said The Times. ‘The deepening anger on both sides means the 2008 conference in Canterbury could see savage theological conflict.’
“The newspaper added that the events of the week moved the Church ‘closer to schism.’"
Of course, the Archbishop has shown himself not only to be administratively inept but spiritually backslidden. Of all religious leaders, he has been the worst when it comes to defending God’s truth. He has waffled. He has double-talked. He has compromised. He has been the weak of the weak and thus has continued to lead astray those of his own church.
He will stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ as condemned to eternal damnation unless he repents of his sin. He is one of those whom Jesus referred to as false teachers who lead the innocent far from God.
“The Church's official policy declares homosexuality ‘incompatible with scripture.’
“Nigeria's Archbishop Peter Akinola has been the loudest of the Asian and African critics of the North American churches and submitted yesterday's resolution. Both U.S. and Canadian leaders came to this week's council meetings to explain why they had taken stands that marred their relationships with sister churches.
“Reverend Peter Elliott, dean of Christ Church Cathedral in Vancouver and the deputy chairman of the Canadian church's governing body, its General Synod, told the Consultative Council on Tuesday, ‘I am a gay man. I am in a committed partnership myself.’"
How the apostate strut their wickedness.
“Charlie Masters, national director for Anglican Essentials Canada, a group that represents conservative Anglicans, welcomed yesterday's decision, calling it an opportunity for the Canadian church to change its direction.
"’It shows that the Anglican communion is strong in its resolve to call the Anglican Church back to Anglican beliefs,’ he said. The meeting of delegates from the 38 Anglican churches will continue until June 28. National churches must then decide whether to accept or reject any decisions made at the meetings.”

INSURGENTS WON’T STOP IN NEW IRAQ TILL KORAN IS REWRITTEN

Muslim global murderers won’t stop killing in New Iraq or anywhere until Allah resends his killing dictates.
That means the deity of Islam must rewrite the Koran via Mohammed or his clone.
That means that the entire blood letting base of Muslim must be erased in favor of peace making.
Now until all that takes place, bombs will continue to go off throughout New Iraq. Muslims as well as non-Muslims will go up in flames daily. The National Assembly will be under attack. The new constitution will be threatened. Buildings will end up as smithereens in the night air.
Little children will die. Teens will explode themselves. Neighborhoods will be unsafe.
Now if the non-Muslims left the country so that only Muslims were left, there might be a chance that the Muslim global murderers would take a different take. But maybe not.
The reason is that such killers in the name of Allah consider Western leaning Muslims to be cowards. Therefore, such cowards who deal with the infidels must be wiped out for they are an insult to Allah.
This is not just any political war going on in Iraq. This is not just another fight. This is a religious matter.
And the religion we are dealing with is straight from the corridors of hell. Allah is Beelzebub. The Koran is unholy writ. The mosques are waystations for killers. And clerics are madmen positioning laypersons wherever possible for the final kill-off of all non-Muslims.
Islam is the only hate religion on the planet. All other religions exist for other than killing off those who disagree with the tenets of that religion. Islam therefore is to be reckoned with on the long term basis. And many lives will be lost in the process.
Consequently, US President George W. Bush cannot give a time exit for US-led Coalition. In his heart he knows the international militia will be there for quite a long, long time. And many will be lost to the bullet and the bomb.
Finally, we no longer hear Mr. Bush and other freedom-based leaders speak of Islam as a “peace religion.” Mr. Bush now refers to Islam as an “ideology that teaches hate.” That’s reality. The “peace religion” mantra was completely incorrect — and dangerously so.
It’s too bad that political leadership as well as theologically liberal religious leadership lost precious time over months in continuing via media to refer to Islam as a “peace religion.” It is anything but “peace religion.”
The only sense going on right now in New Iraq is that America has not had such daily killings in North America. In other words, the only so-called comfort one can take at the moment is that what is going on in New Iraq has not spread to the Untied States.
However, there are sleeper cells here just waiting to let loose with the same carnage as in Iraq and wherever Muslim global murders hang out.
Evangelist Graham will continue to put out his invite to hearers. He will ask them to make that “decision for Christ.” His monthly magazine title accents his life-long call: DECISION.
That personal decision made by millions over decades has led to salvation for repentant souls. That has led to a discipleship life. And for the eternities, it has opened up heaven’s stay for those who “remain true to the end, and so are saved,” according to Christ’s own words in Matthew 24.
Once again, at age 86, Graham will preach. He will close his message typically by pleading for individuals to confess their wrongs to the Savior, thus coming into a personal experience with Jesus. Nothing new to the man Graham, but ever new to those who decide for the first time. And a renewal for those who have spiritually slipped away but yearn to return.
According to Newsday’s Carol Eisenberg, the Billy Graham Crusade will start Friday at 7:30 in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, Jeff Anderson, crusade chairman, told the media. As usual, 15,000 volunteers are being prepped. They are praying. They are excited. They are anticipating providing nightly counsel to those responding to the decision call, Art Bailey, campaign coordinator, informed the press.
Billy Graham is fortunate in that his son, Franklin, has taken over the administrative role in the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, thus providing continuity into the next generation. Franklin is also CEO of his own evangelistic, social help organization, Samaritan’s Purse.
I recall when a youngster attending my first Billy Graham Crusade. Ever since I have been privileged to read Graham’s magazine and other publications, particularly his devotional books. I recall him speaking to an attentive audience in Harvard Memorial Church, Cambridge, when I was a student there at the Divinity School.
An avid supporter of the Graham ministry, I have encouraged many over the years to contribute to his work, attend his meetings and read his material. He has been one of the most impacting individuals for Christ in world history, speaking to millions upon millions at one time. Not in good health, he still keeps to the mission.
How many times has Graham told interviewers that he longed to be a pastor of a small country church; yet God had other plans for the dedicated young man who became saved during a Mordecai Ham southern gospel tent meeting. After that teen found his own personal tie to Christ, Graham continued in The Way, remaining faithful to the surrender.
Over years both archconservatives and liberals have given him flack on occasion. At times, the ultra-conservatives regarded him too outreaching when he had other than fundamentalists on his Crusade platform. There were some Protestants who were not at all pleased when he invited Catholic leadership to pray at his meetings, working alongside Catholic spokespersons wherever he was preparing a series of meetings.
Then of course there always have been those theological liberals who will have nothing to do with his message and ministry. They regard his preaching as too simplistic, too biblically loyal, and too personal. They want him to compromise his evangelical doctrine and muffle the call to a personal repentance before Christ.
Nevertheless, staying the course, Graham has continued to reach out to those of every denominational label who would support his appeal to the public to make that decision for Christ. Naturally, being biblically sound, Graham would never engage in his meetings those of other religions, believing that Christ is the only Savior and the Bible to be the only divine revelation.
As to the liberals’ complaint that Graham was not socially engaged enough, they have been proven wrong time and again. The Graham global ministry has always reached out with a myriad of social/gospel grassroots endeavors, son Franklin in particular continuing that outreach with Samaritan’s Purse help program to the needy and desperate worldwide. Often the liberals were all-talk while Graham has been all-work in the areas of social improvements.
What was especially notable about Graham during the civil rights movement was his including blacks in his services and ministry planning, including featuring such black gospel singers as Myrtle Hall and Ethel Waters in his crusades. In the South, Graham was often derided for giving a place to black persons in leadership and on the platform. Nevertheless, color meant nothing to Graham except another human being serving the Lord or in need of the Lord’s saving grace.
“Originally slated for Madison Square Garden, the crusade was moved to Queens to accommodate crowds expected to number in the tens of thousands. Organizers say that a stage will be set up just east of the New York State Pavilion site with 70,000 seats, and overflow crowds will be able to watch the stage on Jumbotron screens throughout the park.
“Flushing Meadows ‘is the site of two World's Fairs. Now the whole world is there,’ Graham said. ‘I'm told that the surrounding neighborhood is the most international community in the country, with 130 language groups within walking distance of the park.’"
Once again, Graham will stand before the crowd, speaking clearly about the salvation message and then extending his appeal for all to respond — making that all-important decision for Christ.
