Is Hard Work ‘Asian Values,’ No Longer American Values? Hardly!
-By Warner Todd Huston
I always find it amazing when writers in the mainstream press seem to have so little knowledge of America and its history. Of course, I suppose that being blissfully ignorant of US history does help paper over their betrayal, substituting the feeling that they can maintain allegiance to American “ideals” as they [...]

IPCC Challenged to Recant Global Warming Position
A group of scientists have challenged the IPCC to admit that there is no evidence that human activity drives climate change. Specifically, they sent a letter this month to the Chairman of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change asking those associated with the panel to:
retract support from the current IPCC position and admit that [...]

Brazilian President: abandoning biofuels would be a ‘crime against humanity’
Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, the president of Brazil, said on Wednesday that not continuing to use biofuels would be a “crime against humanity.”
“Don’t tell me, for the love of God, that food is expensive because of biodiesel,” said Lula, when talking to reporters.
Lula also stated that he was ready for a debate on biofuels. [...]

Solarpanel Trumps Trees
The lamestream media told you:
Richard Treanor and Carolynn Bissett of Sunnyvale, Calif., were criminally prosecuted because their redwood trees cast a shadow over their neighbor’s solar panels. They lost the case and had to have the trees chopped down, after the judge in the case ordered them removed. The trees had been planted before the [...]

Russia And China Vie For Region’s Energy Resources
By Brian Whitmore
When Russia and China held joint military exercises last summer, it appeared that a powerful new strategic alliance was about to come of age.
The two countries, after all, routinely cooperate on the UN Security Council to thwart the West on issues ranging from Kosovo’s independence to sanctions against Iran. They are the frontline [...]

For the last two days, March 2-4, I and about five hundred other people attended the 2008 International Conference on Climate Change, including some of the world’s leading authorities on climatology, meteorology, economics, energy, and other fields of knowledge.
It was an extraordinary event, held in New York and sponsored by the Heartland [...]

Ruining our youth, our future
By Alan Caruba
Those of us who grew up in the 1940s and 50s almost universally look back on those days with great fondness. Born into an era that saw the end of the Depression and living as children through World War II, we were nonetheless somehow shielded from it by parents who took care to [...]

Crude oil price reaches new high
Crude oil prices in New York rose to a new record of $102.59 on Thursday, although the figure increased even more during after hours trading. In less than a month, prices have risen $10, leading the figures to above the record highs set during the 1980s (taking inflation into account). Information provided by the International [...]

By Alan Caruba
I heard from Friends of the Earth, a huge environmental organization, who one would think would favor the Lieberman-Warner Climate Security Act of 2007 being advanced by Senate Democrats. It would impose a cap-and-trade program to force reductions of so-called greenhouse gas emissions.
FOE, however, was wailing about the way “it lavishes up [...]
