Two Men + False Accusations = Eight Months Behind Bars
“I lost eight months of my life,” he said. “That’s eight months away from my kids. We missed a lot of holidays and functions we will never get back.”
That's Glen Johnson of Kirksville, Missouri talking about the time he spent in jail falsely accused of raping Earlene Rogers. Johnson and the other man Rogers falsely accused spent eight months in jail under indictment for rape and forced sodomy with bail set at $150,000 each. Earlene Rogers is now in jail charged with eight counts of perjury with bail set at $25,000.
According to prosecutors, Rogers lied in statements she made to a grand jury on two separate occasions. Rogers is not yet represented by an attorney and this article contains no information regarding any criminal record she may have (Kirksville Daily Express, 5/21/09) . So this case is still at an early stage, but it should be interesting to see what happens.
We'll keep you posted.
Thanks to "Georgia Girl" for the heads-up.
