Principles and Goals: The Men’s Movement
PRINCIPI E FINALITA (Principals and Goals of the Men’s Movement)
Written by Rino Della Vecchia
(Translated from the Italian by R. Randazzo)
PRINCIPLES we recognize and affirm:
- The existence of natural differences between the
genders. - The extreme immorality of certain social forces, and at
the same time, the very real opportunity that these forces
have to deny, ignore, compromise, and repress these
differences and any expression of them. - The necessity of cooperation between the genders, and
at the same time the inevitability of opposition between
them. - The scientific inconsistency and dubious morality of
any claim by one gender to describe the state, condition,
needs, experiences, or the value of the other gender.
THE CURRENT STATE OF AFFAIRS
- We define the current situation in the following terms:
- For two generations masculinity and the male gender
have been subject to an all-out attack covering every
sphere, from the world of images and symbolism to that
of common everyday existence, applied systematically
and consistently in every manner and through all means
of communication and cultural diffusion. - The term male-bashing extends itself to aesthetics,
opposing their attainment by men which includes the
male body and men’s physicality. - Every level and gradation within contemporary culture,
and every unit that elaborates on or transmits that culture,
without a single exception, is a tool of this program. - This phenomenon is the fundamental cause of
psychological/emotional harm in individuals and social
dysfunctions of an ever-increasing gravity, hindering the
entire male gender and in particular the younger
generations.
THE VALUE OF FEMININITY
We reject any kind, however indirect, of denigration,
of offensiveness and devaluation, of the ethical, aesthetic,
and intellectual worth of the female gender; we repudiate
any diminution of the symbolic importance of the
feminine, and of the historical importance of female
endeavors visible and invisible, past present and future.
WE PURSUE THE FOLLOWING OBJECTIVES:
- The promotion of the essential value of masculinity,
specifically with regard to personal dignity and the
irreplaceable role of the masculine in the world of image
and symbol and of the male gender in every area of life,
spiritual and material, for the benefit of present and
future generations. - The identification and condemnation of any instance
of malebashing in every context, form, or style, and any
expression of malebashing, direct or indirect, open or
veiled. - The moral opposition to male-bashing—to the
denigration and demonization of men, the denigration of
male sentiments, attributes, opinions and needs, the
denigration of male contributions and comportment—in
the media, literature, the arts, political discourse,
historiography, scientific tracts, text-books, advertising,
and in every form of expression and means of
communication. - The restitution of the value and dignity—as well as the
historic role—of past generations of men, by means of
the deconstruction of feminist historiography. - The struggle against the cultural ideals of a Feminist
Society and its basic values— therefore against the following:
- The principle of the moral, aesthetic and
intellectual superiority of the female gender; - The denial of the existence of anti-male
hatred; - The criminalization both direct and indirect
of the male gender; - The planned inhibition of the development
of male consciousness; - The psychological and chemical emasculation
of the younger generations; - The domestication and docility of men;
- The use of the male libido for purposes of
speculation,manipulation, intimidation and
blackmail; - The demand for reparations, material and
moral, for the wrongs, real or imagined,
sustained by the female gender; - The legal commercialization of sexual
relations and relations based upon affection; - The presumed permissibility of an autocratic
imposition of behavioral rules upon the male
gender; - The principles of political correctness and
the imposition of its vocabulary.

To those who created this “movement” and medium to share topics about the state of men – I honor you and am in deep gratitude. The time to get these subjects into main stream media is Now! I wish you the best to continue this journey until it becomes a regular topic on Larry King Live, Oprah and the likes.
There is just one area I would love to share – based on my own experience, that I have a contrary view to the manifesto. It is the pradigm of self-responsibility.
Short-version of my journey so far (I am 45 years old) – there have been many events in my life where I got to choose if I want to be the victim or step up and be responsible. Thanks to the many personal growth lessons I have made my own it is this quality – self-responsibility, that I net out everything is about.
Be it how I am showing up at work; with my wife; my children; the communities I serve and that serve me – in the end it’s about what choices I make in how to RESPOND to events. See that’s really all “response-ability” is – what I make up of an event and how I respond, not react to it.
So I urge us as we fan out to beat the drum of powerful self-responsibility, and not of victim consciousness, that I judge is embedded throughout this manifesto.
If you choose, I invite you to consider other efforts that are making great head-way: the ManKind Project is what has served me 100% in all areas of my life, and continues to do so; and the book and film from the folks at http://www.goodmenproject.org are great examples.
My own website http://www.theresonantman.com is my gift to the world of things that surface and give me the opportunity to shed light on them.
Be well.
As a man among men I appreciate and honor the principals contained within this manifesto. I judge men all over the planet who embrace these ideas are searching for a way to take action within their own lives.
I was fortunate to have met Robert and Julie about 10 years ago, Julie prompted Robert to tell me about the mens circle he had been sitting with.
Trapped in my own fear of, and hunger to be in healthy community with MEN, it would be 5 years before I would I would give myself the gift of going on the New Warrior Training Adventure weekend with the ManKind Project community of northern California.
What I was given on the New Warrior Training Adventure weekend, and continue to be given as I meet in circle with men every week, is beyond the realm of tangible material stuff, I offer my words in an attempt to share my experience:
I was and now continue to invite, support and am being supported in; exploring, and reclaiming the sacred masculine that I judge all men are born with. I am encouraged to remember the deepest dream of the little boy that I once was, and whose needs and mission still reverberate out from my soul into my life in the present day. I am supported in living this mission by men who mirror back to me the value of my world as it supports theirs.
In addition in the San Francisco Bay area I sit in an open circle that meets the last Wed. of every month. http://menaremeeting.com/
I invite men where ever you are to investigate the international website of The ManKind Project community to see if it would serve you, and I encourage you to keep looking for “your men”, I promise you they are meeting in circle somewhere on the planet and waiting for you to arrive.
Blessings,
Alter’Nathan Bader

Re: Anonymous
If anyone has a clue who this person is, please notify the authorities.
For some of us men equality has come too late. After all of the hell I have suffered because of me being born with the wrong chromosome and the wrong body parts, I am going to leave the “woman’s state” of Tennessee, go out into the dessert and with tears of blood flwoing down my face, end my destroyed life.
Thanks God for this site.
In my country (Brazil), I can perceive the starting of a male-bashing campaing. It seems that all the media and politicians have embraced the mythology of female virtue and male perfidy. We can not even talk about the excesses of this movement without being immediately labeled sexist. I have tried to form discussion groups about these excesses but has been difficult, poque most men have not realized the gravity of the situation. I now found a place where I can seek advice for my activities.
Thank you.
Thanks for doing this Paul
“deconstruction of feminist historiography”
I think that a critical analysis of the history of feminism is required. Is there any such analysis on this site? It would make a good link. I’m interested.
That’s a good manifesto, very well written.
Isn’t this all about equal rights and anti-discrimination?
@ Suzanne
Is there hope? Yes. You just proved it.
thank god that this site exists. i am just sooo sick of the dismissivness of govts. etc in not realising we are creating a falsely balanced society. i’m sick of the media and advertising viewing men as either socially inept, to be feared, weak or easily led- the list goes on. i don’t find this amusing, as a mother of an 11yo son i find it disturbing. when is society going to realise that a lot of youth problems are of their own making? the self esteem issues faced by men today are in urgent need of support- not ridicule. advertising is encouraging girls to think its funny to belittle boys and take advantage of them. is there any hope out there?
