The actual time wasted in this pursuit is less important than the motivation. Women, and not men (or, at least, not any men you would care to meet socially):
1. spend money they do not have (”a credit card is a gift, isn’t it? My husband takes care of all that”)
2. on things they do not need (women do not pay mortgages on line; the question “what was the 72nd pair of shoes for?” has no meaning)
3. and that they will not use (closets full of apparel not even worn once, diet aids they’ve “been meaning to try”, books that explain how to do everything without effort, still unread)
