    The planet Earth is STILL in the ice age. It's called the Pleistocene. Fact!
    The next glaciation is imminent. Fact! There is no evidence whatsoever to suggest otherwise. We are living in the Holocene period, which is a warm blip in the ice age. It's a 'cold' warm blip as well. Fact!
    The real danger to future civilisation is the onset of the next glaciation. If the re-release of fossil carbon back into the atmosphere, will increase global temperature, then we should all be burning fossil fuels as fast as possible, and hoping we can end the Pleistocene cycle of glaciations and little warmer blips.
    Now that really would be news! and the greatest achievement of humanity.
    To create a new geological epoch.
