Americans are Beginning to Notice Political Swing to Left

Americans don’t pay much attention to politics. When they do during presidential election seasons, converage tends to focus on the horse-race rather than real politics. Nonetheless, Americans are beginning to notice that the two controlling political parties are farther to the left than the should be. Gallup provides some numbers.

    Government gets bigger the more it feeds on itself. The trick has been to hide from the general public just how little power we actually have over them. Given the unelected bureaucracy, the desire by those elected to retain their power and prestige, and the need in any organization to reach consensus – bear in mind the adage, the squeaky wheel gets the grease – there is a slide in one direction or another. We're just starting to realize WHICH direction we've been pulled in.
