WashPo: Marriage Is for White People?!!!
Ed Note: Joy Jones of the Washington Post fell all over herself attempting to excuse black women for not marrying, having millions of illegitimate children, and blaming it on men. Jones refuses to acknowledge the fact that a multiplicity of tremendous welfare, housing, food stamps, job placement, training, and other federal subsidies being thrown at impressionable, very young black women have eviscerated the marriage market and marginalized over 2/3 of black men out of the marriage picture.
But as a black woman, I have witnessed the outrage of girlfriends when the ex failed to show up for his weekend with the kids, and I’ve seen the disappointment of children who missed having a dad around. Having enjoyed a close relationship with my own father, I made a conscious decision that I wanted a husband, not a live-in boyfriend and not a “baby’s daddy,” when it came my time to mate and marry.
My time never came.
For years, I wondered why not. And then some 12-year-olds enlightened me.
“Marriage is for white people.”

What everyone seems to miss, is that for the most part, women have chosen government over men. What do women want? Security… Local, state and federal governments climb al over themselves to cater to women. Basic needs? Food/Shelter/Warmth? Try applying for ADC or food stamps as a single male (white, black or plaid).
Yup, women have replaced a warm body with an aloof social worker. Hows that working out for ya?
