Ronan: Senator Franken’s Office ‘Not Concerned’ With VAWA and Immigration Fraud
Minnesota MRA activist Bill Ronan set up a meeting with Senator Al Franken’s office last week, hoping to get the Senator’s response to some questions about VAWA and immigration fraud. Today, we received Ronan’s report on the meeting….
SUBJECT: My meeting with Greg Bhur, Staff assistant for Senator Al Franken on 11/24/09
The meeting was about as meaningful for justice as a visit to the Zoo.
He refused to let me use the questions I had written out so that the interview could be more structured.
Greg insisted that the Immigration office in Vermont did indeed look closely at all VAWA self petitions and tried to reassure me that justice was being done. Just that they did not want me, or others who have been accused, to know. “El Toro de caca?”
He was unconcerned that letters from Republican Senator Norm Coleman’s office and MN State Democrat Representative Steve Simon’s office were trashed at the Vermont center saying everything was read and taken into account. Still, neither Steve nor Norm were ever contacted. Perhaps they are thought of as being abusers too by the VAWA run Vermont Center.
He explained that somehow having the knowledge of what was happening at the Vermont Center could incite more violence among perpetrators. He took the position that he “sees all sides of the cases and is not limited just to the side of those falsely accused but deals with “real” victims of actual domestic violence by the American citizen. He told me sad stories of women who had been abused and that the system was constantly turning down applicants.
The letter I sent to the office with the letter of introduction from State Rep Steve Simon was “lost” and did not reach Greg’s desk. It is unlikely he read any of what I sent in emails or the fliers that were dropped off from RADAR and ImmigrationFraudVictims.
When I showed him the statistics of False Accusations & Perjury that were 0% for over 15 million criminal cases from 2001 – 2009 from the Court Administrator of Minnesota. He did not seem concerned or disturbed.
Prejudicial views run deep.
Thought you all should know.
